Vacancies

Summary of role

  • Generate and update website content (products, content, promotions)
  • Work with team to build traffic & sales via the website

Key Experience

  • Deep understanding and proven experience of e-commerce applications such as Wordpress woo commerce and Magento CMS.

Detailed responsibilities would include:

Website

  • Develop and ensure a functional e-commerce portal will all functionalities
  • Update product information and content on the website
  • Create banners, images, promotions etc for display on the website (using products like Photoshop)
  • Update content managed areas (copy & artwork)
  • Manage website configuration & parameters (eg payment options, stock management)
  • Investigate and report any operational/technical issues arising
  • Scope and document ongoing website functional projects /improvements
  • Test and deploy functional projects /improvements
  • Liaise with e-commerce team regarding the day to day management of the website

Marketing

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Operations: Oversee and manage the SUPPORT for DCA Academy Staff such as applying for grant funding, liaising with skilled volunteers who provide support.

Specific Objectives of the Role:

DCA Academy Manager Jobs Role Description:

  • The DCA academy will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the organisation.
  • He or she will be expected to organise and co-facilitate the development DCA Academy programs, including all logistics, media and communications relating to the success of the academy.

Human Resource Management

  • Where beneficial, recruit, supervise and ensure the ongoing professional development of a group of DCA Academy volunteers and/or interns to assist with planning and delivery of DCA Academy programs.
  • Recruit, supervise and ensure the ongoing professional development of future DCA Academy staff and/or short-term consultants, including visiting DCA Academy staff and volunteers.

Fundraising

  • Engage with corporate, non-profit, government and media partners to support the growth of DCA Academy.
  • Leadership on other innovative forms of fundraising such as events, social businesses and local community engagement.

Media and Communications

  • Draft media releases for relevant print, web and radio outlets and participate in media interviews as required.
  • Oversee the strategic use of the DCA Academy website and social media accounts as required.

Financial Management

  • Together with the DCA Trust Management, develop, monitor and review the organisation’s budget.
  • Process applications to the DCA Academy Seed Funds and liaise with the selection panel as required.
  • Prepare applications and proposals for grants, donations and other funding.
  • Maintain compliance with the organisation’s funding agreements, including completing financial and narrative reports as required by donors.
  • Ensure that accurate financial records are maintained.

Policy Development

  • Together with the DCA Trust DCA Trust Management, develop, amend or review the organisation’s policies and procedures.

Relationship Management

  • Foster and develop relationships with potential and existing donors, stakeholders and/or partner organisations, including impact investors and pipeline partners.
  • Attend relevant meetings, conferences, forums and other opportunities as an official representative of DCA Academy.
  • Promote awareness of and the achievements of DCA Academy at a local, national and international level.
  • Together with the DCA Trust Staff, contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of DCA Academy in Africa.

Administration

  • Develop and maintain administrative systems that ensure the smooth day- to-day operations of DCA Academy
  • Understand and comply with all relevant legislation and guidelines as they apply to DCA Academy.

Professional Qualification/Experience

  • The successful candidate is should have a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Administration, or the equivalent gained via extensive “hands on” experience in actual Management roles with full responsibilities as outlined above.
  • Additionally the candidate should have strong empathy with, if not actual experience of, the Not for Profit sector, start-ups, Fund raising as well as with the overall aims and goals of DCA Academy.
  • Experience of managing multicultural teams would be highly advantageous, as would an understanding of and exposure to, internet governance, Youth and Women programs especially in Africa

A DCA's Digital Team Lead/ Digital Strategist will be required to create, build and publish content for a variety of websites and digital platforms. He/She will manage daily updates through the content management systems to keep subscribers and prospects up-to-date with schedule and program information.

The ideal candidate for this position must be adept at using complex content and scheduling systems, comfortable tracking large amounts of information and offers a proven blend of editorial skills (copy writing, social media best practices) and technical know-how.
