ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

Topic: eHealth in Africa: Leading innovative technologies for health in Africa
All students are eligible. Requires a maximum 1,500-word essay addressing ideas and proposing solutions on eHealth in the African ecosystem.
Award: 1st prize: $250; 2nd prize: $150; 3rd prize: $100.
Purpose of the Competition
Almost overnight, remote work has become the new norm, the mainstream. Companies, schools, and other institutions around the world are encouraging their staff and students to work from home to prioritize the health and safety of their workforce and communities, following the effects that have resulted from the COVID-19 global pandemic.
To help navigate the challenges of studying remotely and be beneficial to the whole global conversation on health and wellness, DCA Digital Academy has created an essay writing competition award for university students to participate and use these special #StayAtHome moments and apply their creative minds to contribute to a solution.
The goal of the essay is to help motivate students to understand the eHealth tech ecosystem in Africa and, by extension, the development of innovative digital systems for the application of e-health systems to improve healthcare delivery. At the same time, it is intended to improve student proposal writing skills in making successful papers.
Eligibility
The award is intended for our future thinkers across a wide spectrum of fields of study, but with a focus on solutions for health technology and delivery. This award is available to all university students.
How to Apply
Applying for the essay award is entirely stress-free. Students must submit an essay between 1500 and 2500 words focused on topics related to eHealth in Africa: Leading innovative technologies for health in Africa.
The application is via email only. Personal details, for example, name, educational qualification, contact information, and background details are a must-fulfill.
A short original essay with proposed solutions must be written on the topics above. (Write-up must be up to the mark with correct spellings, correct punctuation and grammar, and proper sentence formation.
Entry Requirement: Candidates should be 18 years or older at the time of enrollment.
The total amount of the award is $500.00 for their education expenses.

We will select a winner and two runners-up
The winners will receive free access to resources available on the DCA Digital Academy Website.
Winners runners up will receive certificates and will be published on our blog.

Stage 2: Evaluation by judging panel from 20 June to 10 July 2020
Stage 3: Announcement of the winner, runners-up on 20 July 2020
