1. Nigerian Bourse to Adopt Blockchain for Settling Trades by 2023

 

In a period of two years, Adanian Labs has grown beyond Kenya, by establishing a presence in Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, and Nigeria, some of the biggest startup and tech hubs in Africa.

It is eyeing a pan-African presence by 2025 as it races to help build 300 companies over the next five years. 2. Autochek acquires CoinAfrique to grow its footprint in Francophone Africa

Automotive e-commerce company Autochek has expanded to new markets in Africa after acquiring CoinAfrique, a classified ad marketplace, nearly two months after the Nigerian startup acquired Moroccan auto marketplace KIFAL Auto, marking its foray into North Africa.

Autochek said it will tap CoinAfrique’s regional customer base in Francophone Africa to accelerate its car financing services. The classified ad marketplace is said to attract 60,000 new ads and 1.5 million visits every month, with the car category accounting for 50% of the business transactions happening on the site. READ MORE»

3. Sophia Bekele granted an Exclusive Interview with The Reporter Ethiopia on the merits of the .Africa case left unheard by the US courts.

Despite not winning the battle over the .Africa Domain for her organization, Sophia Bekele, the award-winning and renowned Africa’s Digital champion continued to hold the torch to the benefit of the Internet community making multiple precedential wins on her efforts.  She now calls for the African Leadership to investigate fraud allegations committed by the AUC bureaucracy.

Battles are not uncommon in Africa.  Among one that continues to roar is one led by the Ethiopian-born American Sophia Bekele Eshete, the founder of DotConnectAfrica (DCA) Trust, based in Mauritius. Sophia initiated the .Africa internet domain name during her tenure as a high-level internet policy advisor at the United States-based, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) – the global governing body for the internet. 4. Bolt Opens Africa Hub in Nairobi, Kenya

According to Business Daily, the company says it will use Nairobi’s strategic location on the continent to expand to other Comesa markets as it raises to grow its market share in the ride-hailing sector.
